Taskmaster Education has teamed up with the lovely folks at English Heritage to add an extra layer of fun (and some gentle, but very real, competition) to school trips. You can visit any of English Heritage’s 400 sites across the country for free and, what’s more, get your hands on free special task packs, tailored to specific time periods, that will encourage visiting pupils to work collaboratively, think creatively and, perhaps most importantly, have a lot of fun.

Each pack includes all the information needed for successful site tasking, including rules to help the task sessions run smoothly, and score sheets for those competitive types who will be battling it out for victory. The activities are self-led (Greg and Alex won’t be there, sorry…) and can be adapted to best suit the interests and abilities of your pupils on the day.

There are different tasks to suit the particular school trip location:

  • Abbeys and Priories
  • Roman Sites
  • Prehistoric Sites
  • Castles and Forts
  • Halls and Houses

So, if you’re looking for a low-cost school trip with curriculum-linked challenges that encourage teamwork, creativity and problem-solving, all while keeping history at the heart of the challenge, this might be the partnership for you. AND you might even spot a rubber duck or two along the way…

Visit the English Heritage School Visits page to get your resources now.

And if tasking is right up your street, you can take the fun back to your school by setting up a Taskmaster Club. Find out more getting your school involved here.
